Shirley Ann Floyd Swindle, age 83, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away at her home on April 12, 2025. Shirley was born on July 10, 1941, to James and Jettie Floyd.
She attended High School at Kilmichael High School in Kilmichael, Mississippi. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. She was a lover of education and a beloved teacher for 40 plus years. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church of Magee, Mississippi and was involved in many clubs and organizations in every community in which she and her family lived. She enjoyed reading, music, and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her son, Jay (Lynn) Swindle of Ellisville, Mississippi; daughter Shae Swindle Baria of Magee, Mississippi; daughter Sherie Swindle Alexander of Magee, Mississippi; and sister Betty (Charles) Austin of Kilmichael, Mississippi. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Jettie Floyd; her husband, JV Swindle; and her sisters, Frankie Jo Eldridge and Martha Riddell.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Choctaw County, Mississippi. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 1:00PM until time for services at 2:00PM at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Luke Pogue will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be James Alexander, Alex Alexander, Alex Reeves, Cody Willhite, Steven Baria and Jesse Rhodes. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is honored to be entrusted with all arrangements for the Swindle family.
