Simpson County Sheriff Paul Mullins was the guest speaker for the Magee Chamber of Commerce breakfast, “Muffins with Mullins.”

Chamber president Nancy Brown welcomed the guest. Magee Police Chief Shane Little introduced Sheriff Paul Mullins.


Sheriff Mullins emphasized beware of Scams! Mullins explained that so many older citizens are receiving scam calls. “Do not give your banking information; do not give you social security number to anyone who calls you…just hang up” stated the Sheriff.
According to Mullins, Social Media promotes problems. “The #1 app to avoid is the “cash app.” This app is not backed by a bank and you could loose all your money with no way to recoup,” the Sheriff added.
One of the greatest needs we have in Simpson County is a qualified jury. “People don’t want to serve “ stated the Sheriff. Even if you are over 65 and in good health, serve.
The open border crisis even affects our county, explained Mullins. The huge amounts of fentanyl coming into our country is coming to Simpson County.
