Sheree Vance Price, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died at her home in Mendenhall on December 12, 2016, after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on October 6, 1941, in Hattiesburg, MS to devoted parents, Cayce and Mary Hazle Vance. Sheree and her husband, John Paul Price, were married for 57 years and provided a Christian home for their family. She was a life-long Baptist and served throughout the years as organist and pianist for fellowship Baptist Church and Clearview Baptist Church. At her passing, she was a member of first Baptist Church Mendenhall. She retired on May 31, 2015 as City Clerk of Braxton and was honored to work for the residents of Braxton and Mayor Mable Everett.
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, John Paul Price of Mendenhall; daughters, Karen Price Yates (Max) of Ridgeland and Kristi Price Smith (Kevin) of Brandon; grandchildren, Memrie Price of Brandon, Logan Yates of Ridgeland, Price Yates of Ridgeland, Madelyn Smith of Brandon and Konnor Smith of Brandon; brother, Gerald Vance (Robbin) of Poplarville; sisters, Marcia Vance Warren (Alvin) of Mendenhall and June Vance Lay (Richard) of Florence; host of extended family left to cherish her memory and remember her sweet spirit.
Mrs. Price is preceded in death by her son, John Paul (Johnny) Price Jr.; parents, Cayce Vance and Mary Hazle Vance Bryant; brother-in-law, John Earl (Buddy) Workman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Mendenhall. Bro. Rodney Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Clear View Baptist Church Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements, (601)847-4401. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Mendenhall.
Memorial may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis, TN 38101-2151 or First Baptist Church of Mendenhall P.O. Box 366 Mendenhall, MS 39114
