(January 8, 1975 – June 30, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee for Shannon Michael Slater, 47, of Brookhaven, who passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022. Interment will be at New Hebron Cemetery in New Hebron. Rev. Mike Carr will officiate the services, and Kelli Groover will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Shannon was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and nephew. His son Jack was the joy of his life. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing video games together. Shannon was an active member of Southway Baptist Church in Brookhaven. He worked for many years as a loyal employee of C-Spire. He loved his work, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his two Grandfathers, Charles Berry Slater and James Kimble Richards; two Grandmothers, Lula Maydene Slater and Mildred Luella Richards.
He is survived by his Son, Jackson Colt Slater;  Father, Charles Burnley Slater; Mother, Nancy Jeannette Richards Slater; two Sisters, Alicia Slater and Melissa Suzette Snyder (Greg);  Niece, Emma Slater-Powell; Uncle, James Roger Slater (Karen); and an Aunt, Loretta Ann Welch (Joe)
Pallbearers will be Brandt Walker and Allen Flynt.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements.
