Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, which claimed 2,977 lives. Throughout the U.S., today is a day of remembrance, with special ceremonies taking place today at Ground Zero, as well as in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon.
