The Secretary of State’s Office is cautioning businesses about letters from an entity offering to prepare annual reports for a $75.00 fee.

These letters, sent by a company called C.P.F.S., appear to have targeted Mississippi LLCs. The letter may appear to be official government correspondence, but the fine print makes it clear that it is not. This correspondence is not authorized by the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office.

As a reminder, for domestic LLC owners, the annual report filing is FREE and our Business Services Division is here to help customers with this free filing. Annual reports are due by April 15th of each year and the Secretary of State’s Office sends numerous emails and letter correspondences to remind our Mississippi LLCs of their filing deadlines and responsibilities.

Please call our Business Services Division at (601) 359-1633 or 1-800-256-3494 with any questions.
