In observation of Career and Technical Education Month in February, the health science department at Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC), in collaboration with Mississippi Blood Services, hosted its annual spring blood drive on Feb. 6. More than 20 pints of blood was collected at this life-saving event.
SCTC students enrolled in the health science program learned valuable skills such as event planning, teamwork, communication, and community engagement. They also gained an understanding of the importance of blood donations in health care, fostering empathy, and a sense of social responsibility.
SCTC appreciates Brenda White, health science instructor, for her hard work in organizing this event.
