Schedule of 60th Annual Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo Events Taking Place
Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29, and Thursday, January 30

STATE FAIRGROUNDS, Miss. – Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson invites everyone to attend the 60th annual Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo and announces the schedule of events taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29, and Thursday, January 30, 2025. All events take place on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds.

 

4-H and FFA students will continue competing in the Dixie National Junior Round-Up Livestock Shows. Livestock shows on Wednesday, January 29, feature lamb and sheep. Dairy cattle shows take place Thursday, January 30.

 

The annual Dixie National Horse and Mule Color Bonanza Show kicks off tomorrow and runs through Sunday, February 2. This show starts at 8:00 a.m. daily and features mules and donkeys in its long ear division of all colors and sizes, as well as being open to horses of all colors and disciplines. Multiple registries will be represented, and exhibitors have come from as far away as Nebraska, North Carolina, Florida, Alaska and beyond. This is one of the largest mule and donkey shows in the nation and it also features equine with the American Ranch Horse Association and Palomino Horse Breeders Association.

Scheduled Activities & Events for Wednesday, January 29, 2025:

  • 8:00 a.m. – Dixie National Horse and Mule Color Bonanza Show – Equine Center
  • 8:00 a.m. – Lamb and Hair Sheep Shows (Lamb Showmanship, Wether Dams, Market Lambs, Hair Sheep Showmanship, Breeding Hair Sheep, Market Hair Sheep) – Barn 14

Scheduled Activities & Events for Thursday, January 30, 2025:

  • 8:00 a.m. – Dixie National Horse and Mule Color Bonanza Show – Equine Center
  • 8:00 a.m. – Dairy Cattle Shows (Showmanship, FFA Dairy Cattle Handlers Class, Commercial Dairy Heifers, Commercial Dairy Cows, Purebreds) – Barn 14

Events of the 60th Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo run through Sunday, February 16, 2025. The Dixie National Rodeo, the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River, takes place Friday, February 7, through Saturday, February 15, inside the Mississippi Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds.

  • Friday, February 7, at 7:00 p.m. – Sam Barber
  • Saturday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – George Birge
  • Sunday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. – Lorrie Morgan
  • Wednesday, February 12, at 7:00 p.m. – Clay Walker
  • Thursday, February 13, at 7:00 p.m. – Zach Top (Concert-only tickets available)
  • Friday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. – Ella Langley (Concert-only tickets available)
  • Saturday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – Gretchen Wilson
