The Simpson County Academy Softball team are the 5A North State runner up!! The Cougars fought hard all weekend finishing second in the state.
The state championship tournament will be played this weekend at the Jimmy Clyde Sportsplex in Magee.
A bracket will be posted when available.
Simpson lost to Leake Academy in the final game of the play-off 4-3. Simpson defeated Magnolia Heights 8-6 earlier and Bayou Academy 15-2.
The team is 18-14 overall and 6-2 in league play.
