The thought of saying no to cookie dough makes me sad! I have spent my life growing up on cookie and cake dough! But, according to the FDA, raw dough’s a raw deal and could make you sick! I had always heard to be careful about eating raw dough because of the eggs. But now, The FDA says eating raw flour poses additional health risks.
“Flour is derived from a grain that comes directly from the field and typically is not treated to kill bacteria,” senior FDA Office of Food Safety advisor Leslie Smoot said in the report.
So what does this mean? You and your kids shouldn’t eat raw dough. Just bake those cookies and then eat them!
