Sally was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church in Magee, where she was a member of Gleaner’s SS class and the WMU. She was also a member of the Magee Women’s Club and a patron of the Magee Library, serving on the local and regional library boards for a number of years. Sally enjoyed traveling, visiting many parts of the USA. She also traveled to Europe, visiting London, Paris, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, and Poland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Herring MD of Magee; her parents, Emma and D. T. Holliday of Raymond and her sisters Susie Mitchell and Lorene Jolley both of Florida. She is survived by her children: Gene (Dianne) Herring of Raleigh, Jan (Bill) Boteler of Raymond, Beth (Chet) Cox of Flowood, Alan (Mary) Herring of Holbrook, AZ, Marsha (Ken) Lane of Macon, and Becky (David) Gaffney of Birmingham, AL; her sister Ann (Bob) Greenfield of Raymond; and her sisters-in-law Judy (Richard) Foster of Madison and Jean Berry of Prentiss. Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 266, Magee, MS 39111. The children would like to thank her faithful caregiver Frances Scott of Jackson and also the staff of Sienna II at St. Catherine’s for the wonderful care provided their mother.
