Ruth Sullivan Stewart, 87 of Mize, Mississippi away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Miss Care Center in Raleigh, Mississippi. She was born Monday, August 5, 1935, in Smith County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Fairmont Waco Cemetery in Mize, Mississippi. Brother Tony Keys will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Pansy Little. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Mrs. Ruth was a member of Mize Baptist Church in Mize, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching and listening to gospel music, watching the news and reading the paper, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Smith County Volunteer Home Makers Club where she served for over thirty years as the secretary. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Ray Stewart; father, Ezra Sullivan; mother, Lydia S. Sullivan; brothers, Otis Sullivan, Herman Sullivan, Dennis Sullivan and Hershel Sullivan; and sisters, Mildred Sullivan Naquin, Winnie S. Sullivan and Myrtle Sullivan Smith.
Survivors include her one son, Charles Wayne Stewart of Taylorsville, MS; two daughters, Dianne Stewart White (Dale) of Philadelphia, MS and Anita Stewart Middleton (Lee) of Raleigh, MS; six grandchildren, Troy Dale “Trey” White III (Carrie) of Nacogdoches, TX, Brittany White Brown (Keith) of Forest, MS, Lydia Middleton Windham (Tyler) of Brandon, MS, Aubree Middleton of Moselle, MS, Haley Middleton of Raleigh, MS and Ranni Middleton of Hattiesburg, MS; five great-grandchildren, Paxton Ray Brown of Forest, MS, Aiden Brown of Forest, MS, Meri Tyler Windham of Brandon, MS, Logan Baker of Nacogdoches, TX and Molly Baker of Nacogdoches, TX; two sister-in-law’s, Dot Hames of Pelahatchie, MS and Maxine Stewart of Magee, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Windham, Trey White, Keith Brown, Ethan Blakeney, Jansen Ezell, and Wayne McCellan.
