My long time friend Ruby Jackson came to see me a few days ago. We were discussing her travels and her life. I, as usual, was talking about Magee things! I asked her if she had ever been to the Vault. Well, Ruby had no idea what the Vault was and surely had not been.

I persuaded Ruby to let me take her to lunch at one of Magee’s most interesting restaurants. She agreed and Wednesday, January 9th was the day!

When I walked in with Ruby, Nona was at the front. I announced I was bringing a first timer to her business. When I began introductions, Nona immediately announced that she and Miss Ruby had been friends for years. Nona worked at PrioirtyOne Bank where Ruby and her late husband Charles spent many a day!

Ruby loved the actual vault. She loved everything about this special place. After our Vault trip, I took her on a short tour of Main Street Magee.

Ruby will be heading back up north in February to be with her son Charles, Jr. She soaked up the happenings in Magee…now she’s got lots to tell Junior!
