Ruby Jewel Snell (better known as Jewel) was born October 13, 1958 to the late Eddie Snell and Bertha Mae Norwood in Jackson,MS. She lived in Merit, MS the majority of her life and went to school at Mendenhall high school and later received her GED from CoLin. She was a member of Pine Grove MB church in D’Lo. Jewel worked as a food server for Simpson county schools for roughly 20 years until her health began to fail. She was the sweetest person with the biggest heart. She was a independent and very strong hard working single mother of 3 girls. Preceding Ruby Jewel in death were her parents Eddie and Bertha Mae Snell, brother Eddie Snell He, one daughter Shayla Keys and one granddaughter Madison Rosse. She leaves to cherish the memories of her loving, gentle, and humble spirit: three daughters, Shundra, Monica, and Jasmine Keys; three granddaughters, Arianna and Brittini Hubbard and Braiya Keys; one and only grandson Braylen Rosse; three brothers, four sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews ,aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was called to her heavenly home at Baptist Hospital on Tuesday night June 9 2020.
