On March 9, 2017 at approximately 1213 a.m., the Magee Police Department was conducting a safety check point at Goodwater Road and US 49 Highway. Officers Chris Jones, Lin Easterling, and Officer Landon Ates. Zavier Robinson of 303 Osley Street Winstonville, MS drove up to the safety check point with a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers found on the floor board a partial marijuana cigar and Robinson was arrested for Driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Officer Landon Ates found in the 2017 Chevrolet Impala a plastic bag containing 331 ecstasy pills and 200 xanax bars. Robinson was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute ecstasy and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute Xanax. Robinson is currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Judge Eugene Knight set bond on ecstasy at $15,000 and bond on Xanax was set at $15,000.
