Rita Jo McNair, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was born November 3, 1958, to James P. Evans and Bobbie Nell (Gowan) Evans.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis McNair; son, Zach McNair (Shelby); daughter, Laura Hayman (Billy); brother, Jim Evans; sisters, Johnnie Irving (Craig), Juli-Ann Marquette (Chris) and four grandchildren, Cassidy Akers, Catherine McNair, Eli Hayman and Madeline McNair.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She was of the Baptist faith and retired from the City of Mendenhall Police Department.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Pastor George Owens will officiate the service at 4:30 p.m. with interment following in County Line Cemetery in Rankin County.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fallen Officers Memorial.

Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
