Reverend Edward Franklin Crawford passed away on June 5, 2016, at Simpson General Hospital. He was born on September 6, 1924, to the late James Eddie Crawford and Leatha (Sullivan) Crawford.
Rev. Crawford was a Veteran of World War II, where he served in the United States Navy as Radarman Second Class. After his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, Rev. Crawford went on to Mississippi College to pursue a degree in Theology and served 74 years in the Ministry.
Rev. Crawford is survived by his loving wife, Freeda (Kinard) Crawford; his three daughters, Sharon Burnham (Danny) , Wanda McNerney, Dawn Cody; two brothers, Arthur Crawford, Clifton Crawford; two sisters, Christine Cook, Carolyn Raines; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Rev. Crawford was preceded in death by three brothers, Otis Crawford, Mitchell Crawford, Eddie Crawford; two sisters, Margie McMorris, Mary Merrell and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2016, from 6:00 pm -8:00 p.m. at New Hebron Baptist Church. Services are Tuesday, June 7, at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Final resting place will be in New Hebron Cemetery.
