Rankin Lee Faler (November 19, 2014 – August 17, 2021)
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Terry for Rankin Lee Faler, 6 of Terry, who passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson.
Reverend Matt Olson and Reverend Michael Stevenson will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Athens Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall. Special music will be provided by Mr. Cody Morgan.
Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Clay Brister, Noah Brister, Rhyser Guynes, Dent Guynes, Bradley Foster, Jeremy McDonald, Donald Fortenberry, and Brooks Fortenberry.
Rankin was born on November 19, 2014, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a loving son, brother, and grandson. Rankin ran into the arms of Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer over the last few months. His journey here on earth has impacted people far and wide, and his memory will live on in the hearts that he has touched.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Joe H. Rankin; his paternal great-grandfathers, Mack Allen Pickering and Billy Chain; and his great aunt, Jessie Dees.
Survivors include his parents, Reverend Lee Michael Faler and Jordan Rankin Faler of Terry; one brother, Patton Faler of Terry; one sister, Kathryn Rebecca “Kati Beck” Faler of Terry; his maternal grandparents, Randy and Kathy Rankin of Mendenhall; his paternal grandparents, Mike and Becky Pickering Faler of Collins; his maternal great-grandparents, Betty Rankin of Mendenhall and Allen and Jan Nieminen of Clinton; his paternal great-grandparents, Doris Chain and Dewitt and Geneva Faler, all of Collins, his uncle and aunt, Joal and Dana Rankin, and his cousins, Easton, Gray, and Lynnlee, all of Mendenhall; and a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Rankin Faler Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Mississippi Baptist Foundation, P.O. Box 530, Jackson, Mississippi, 39205. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.billymkingcolonialchapel.com
