Reba Love Rainey passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at her residence. She was born on January 19, 1946, to R.T. Thompson and Sarentha Welch Messemore in Simpson County.
Reba loved her children and her grandchildren more than anything. She wanted them to remember her overwhelming love that she had for them. Also, that she would stand between them and any danger, laying down her own life for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Alonzo Berry Rainey; her son, Alonzo Berry Rainey Jr.; brother, Willie B. “Diddle” Thompson; sisters, Hazel Ellzy, Murle Myers, Pauline Berry, and Ira Sue Fortenberry.
Reba is survived by her son, Jeffrey Rainey; daughters, Michelle Rainey, Tina Olney (Tony), Addie Henderson (Randy); brother, Timmy Thompson (Tanealia); grandchildren, Nicolas Grantham (Olivia), Christina Rainey (Rett), Samantha Walling (Taylor), Gabby Rainey (Tripp), Johnny Rainey (Kaitlyn), Savannah Parker (Ariel), Brett Olney (Lindsay), Skylar Henderson; greagrandchildren, Lily, Lila and Luna Grantham, Keaton and Ivy Olney, Giovana and Milani Zapata, Ella Walling, soon-to-be Bodie Sheppard and Kade Rainey.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday. December 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Stonewall Cemetery in Pinola, MS.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
