Horse lovers are invited to see some of the region’s finest equestrian riders in action at Providence Hill Farm.

The 2,000-acre farm will host the 2016 Spring Equestrian Show April 23-24.

Providence Hill Farm serves as the headquarters for Mississippi College’s equestrian team that’s among the best in the South.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity to see and experience Mississippi College’s Equestrian Program and all it has to offer,” says farm owner Jamie Planck Martin. “It’s fun for the young and the old and a great way to enjoy the Spring.”

Catering will be provided by Outback Steakhouse. There’s no admission charge. But people eating lunch must RSVP and pay $12 per meal.

Supporters of MC’s equestrian team say the program shouldn’t be missed.

“This event is unique to the region and you would have to travel more than 200 miles from this area to see English riding of this caliber,” says Jim Turcotte, vice president for enrollment services and dean of students. “There will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

Turcotte oversees MC’s equestrian, clay shooting, archery and bass fishing teams. The programs help students continue their love of the outdoors, while advancing the cause of Christ.

Mississippi College offers a dynamic equestrian program that will soon celebrate ten years of national competition. Home to stables housing three dozen horses, scenic lakes, wooded areas for clay shooting, lodging and other amenities, Providence Hill Farm is located nearly 20 minutes from the Clinton campus. The two-day spring benefit horse show is expected to last from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

For more information, contact Jim Turcotte at 601-925-3315 or turcotte@mc.edu
