msbloodPioneer Health Services Blood Drive

Pioneer Health Services in Magee will be holding a blood drive with Mississippi Blood Services on Thursday, September 10, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The MBS Donor Coach will be on site. Donors will receive a T-shirt. Donors can now check their overall cholesterol levels on their MBSConnect account.

September is “Childhood Cancer Awareness” Month. Although childhood cancer strikes throughout the year, it is this month that has been set aside to raise awareness that young lives are often disrupted with catastrophic illnesses like brain cancer, leukemia and other forms of malignancy. While medical science has made great strides in curing these diseases, the treatments, as well as the illness itself, takes a terrible toll on these small patients. Many need blood and platelet transfusions to help them in their fight against cancer. Even after they’re in remission, they often continue treatment to ensure the cancer doesn’t come back. That means more blood and platelets need to be available. Please champion their cause. Please donate blood and platelets on a regular basis.
