Tuesday, October 10, 2023, a memorial service was held at the Mississippi State Fire Academy honoring those who have passed before us and given the ultimate sacrifice, their life.

Philip Allan, long time Magee resident, served the citizens of Magee as a fireman, EMT,  and dispatcher.  He loved his family, his friends, the fire department and anything “emergency,”

Philip was  killed in a tragic accident,  May7 17, 2023,  attempting to help a stranger on the side of Highway 49 near Shady Acres.  Philip’s courageous spirit continued following the accidental death of his son, Jacob.  Philip never stopped loving others.

His name was added to the Fallen Firefighter Memorial.  Philip’s son Michael was on hand for the ceremony as well as the MFD Chaplin James Fortenberry, and fellow Magee fireman Garrison Ashley.

MFD-14 will forever remain in our hearts.

Philip is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Jessica, and son Michael.
