Peggy Walker Prince, 84, of Magee, passed away on August 16, 2022. Lovingly known as Mother, Mimi, and Mrs. Prince, she was the matriarch of our family. A devoted wife of Benny for 59 years, they were partners and supporters of the Magee community. She was the most wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend. She worked as an educator for 43 years. She spent the majority of that time as a fourth-grade teacher who dedicated her life to children and fostering relationships with the kindest heart. It was evident that the love for her students only came second to the love of her family.
A beloved neighbor and friend, she will be so dearly missed. Peggy will be remembered fondly for years to come as the most beautiful lady inside and out. The legacy she leaves with us today as a mother and friend is to love as hard as you can, to celebrate the big things and the small things, and never to leave home without your lipstick and your “face on.”
She is survived in death by her daughters Melinda Berry (Danny) and Kim Mangum (Todd); six grandchildren, Bethani Welch (Chris), Ben Whittington, Natalie Lee (Matt), Bradley Munn, Will Mangum, and Bayleigh Grace Munn; four great-grandchildren, Harper and Halle Whittington, Ann Vivian Welch, and Carter Lee and one brother, Herman Walker (Anne).
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Benny Harold Prince; her mother and father, Willis Mae Ashley and Grover Walker; her brother, Paul Walker and her sister, Sandra Cook.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 31:25
