Peggy Geneva Ainsworth Cook passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born to Wilson K. Ainsworth and Marie (Rankin) Ainsworth.

She met her husband, Charley Lee Cook, on the school bus going to Magee High School and she became the love of his life. They married on May 21, 1952. For many years, she and Charley farmed in the Kennedy Springs community. She loved her family and her church where she taught many children in the community to swim in their pool. Her husband surrendered to ministry as they reached their fifties.

She became a wonderful helpmate in the ministry leading many children to learn the love of the Lord.

Peggy was most happy working in her yard and preparing meals for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith to the following.

 She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Charley Cook; children, Geneva Lee Cooper (Garland), Debra Cook Cockrell, Randy Lee Cook; grandchildren, Lance Cooper (Whitney), Daniel Cooper (Mary, Amanda Tutor Blakeney (Jacob), Matthew Cockrell, Morgan Cook (Scott Harvin), Aubrey Cook (Jami); great-grandchildren, Henry, Rose, Walt, Mae and Elliot Cooper, Annmarie and Noah Blakeney, Aspen Majors, Wheatley Cook; sister-in-law, Claudia Cook Bishop; brother-in-law, Wesley East and many loving nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Angela Gay Cook; siblings, Surgeon Ainsworth (Mary), Charles Ainsworth (Mary and Jean East.

Pallbearers are Jacob Blakeney, Matthew Cockrell, Aubrey Cook, Morgan Cook, Daniel Cooper and Lance Cooper.

Services will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Kennedy Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Kennedy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
