The 7U, 9U, and 11U Cardinals baseball teams are serious about showing their friend Parker Pierce how much they care! Parker has leukemia. He is in a three year treatment period. On Wednesday, January 24th, Parker received another dose of the heavy duty chemo. As a member of the Cardinals baseball team, Parker misses his team mates…they really miss him!
In honor of Parker, the teams shaved their heads. Parker has now lost his hair. The boys wanted to “show” Parker their support. The teams met at Lavell’s Barber Shop on 1-49 in Magee. The clippers started humming around 4:30 and the hair started falling.
Coaches for the Simpson County Cardinals are: Brian Mills, Xavier Hayes, Slovakia Griffith, Kalen Jackson, Montez Chatman, and Toby Lewis
We have great video from Friday’s event. All the video is on MageeNews.com Facebook page. I will post several, but take time to view the film…so heart touching. These young guys are standing tall for their friend.
Parker is the son of Brad and Paige Pierce and the grandson of Charlie and Judy Prince.
Cards may be mailed to Parker at 726 Simpson Hwy 149 Magee, MS 39111
