The Simpson Academy Cross Country team is hosting a cross country meet on Monday, September 23, 2024, beginning at 4 p.m. at Neely Farms, which is located on Highway 28 West in Magee.

The Simpson Academy CC team, under the direction of Dr. Angel Neely Overstreet, is a powerhouse in the XC world.  Coach Angel brings more than running to her teaching.  She has provided a basis for growth in all areas of the team members’ lives. The team attends camps (runs) all over the USA!

This year, the team is privileged to have Lilly Overby, one of the top runners in the state. Lilly is undefeated this year and runs a time of 18:41. Lilly clocked over 40 seconds ahead of the second-place runner in an earlier race.

Another strong runner this season is Senior Caroline McAlpin, who has placed in the top ten at multiple meets.

The Simpson boys team has been performing well, too. Led by Jayden Smith, the boys placed 2nd at the recent JA/Prep Invitational at The Quarry in Brandon.

Monday afternoon on Highway 28 West will be wild!  Be prepared for runners, parents, and friends!
