Family friend Lee Ingram is a student at Ole Miss and has sent some info to be published.  Ingram is required to complete this project as part of his grade.

For Ingram’s MBA 622 class project (30% of our grade) he is required to build a social business that supports a cause and raises funds for a chosen charity.  They are also required to build a website for the business. Ingram was hoping to spread the word about his project to the Magee community. It is a challenging project because he only has one month to operate and must meet the following performance benchmarks:

Our project is https://www.OxfordConvo.com.  Ole Miss International students can come to our website and book with a Conversational English Tutor to improve their basic speaking skills.  This is something I care deeply about, so I’m confident we can meet our performance goals.

Ingram is passionate about our cause because for over a year he actually tutored Conversational English for a South Korean graduate student named Hyunjoo. It was an incredibly fulfilling process watching her speaking confidence improve. Also, ingram was able to learn so much about another culture.

This confidence allowed her to successfully obtain a job with a working visa in Grenada. Now, she can stay in America with her 14 year old son who is in middle school in Oxford.  It was huge for her (can you imagine having to leave your son because you can’t obtain a visa?).  Ingram knows that for other International students, gaining confidence in speaking English would also have life changing effects like it did for Hyunjoo.

Price is $10 per hour for sessions but also allow students to meet a tutor free of charge if they cannot afford it.  Tutors are paid $8 per hour. All profits will be donated to ACLU.org.  We chose the ACLU because it instrumental in protecting the rights of hard-working people from abroad.

They have a “Pay It Forward” option for those who would like to sponsor English sessions for International Students. Even just $5 or $10 can go a long way to ensure we can sustain providing the service for free to those in need.
You can support our cause in this way at

There also selling Double-Decker themed “I Love Oxford” T-Shirts that are written four different languages. They designed them ourselves and Ingram thinks they’re really cool (See pictures below). Profits from the shirts will also help sponsor sessions and increase the size of our donation to the ACLU. They are printed in California and are high-quality shirts.
