Trojans were upset on Homecoming night.

Magee seniors served as captains for the night’s game. They are as follows: #3 Tedreckus Griffith, #14 Brook May, #22 Jermond Wynn, #32 Chaz Lofton, #64 Dyquan Lockhart, #73 Mac Anderson, and #76 Taylor McGuire.

Trojans received opening kickoff on their own 24-yard line. Magee would punt after first possession of game, and Newton would be called for roughing the kicker. Trojans would get the ball back, and had a promising drive, but turned ball over on downs on Newton’s five-yard line with just a couple of minutes left on the clock first quarter. With 11:55 left in the first half Newton wasted no time scoring second quarter. Newton would score on a 3 yard run, and two-point conversion was good. Newton would lead by a score of 8-0. Newton would score again on their next possession only to have touchdown called back for a block in the back. Several plays later with 6:51 left in half Newton would cross the goal line one more time on a 15-yard run. Two-point conversion was good. Tigers would lead with a score of 16-0.
