Magee Board of Alderman met Tuesday, November 17, 2020 for their regular scheduled meeting.
Mayor Dale Berry advised the board he was seeking somewhere to house the homeless people of the area. Berry read a letter of thank you from the teachers at Magee High School for providing lunch for them. Berry advised the sliding gate at the cemetery was installed and working. The State Flags have been ordered but due to supply and demand they have not been shipped. As soon as the the flags are received, they will be displayed.
Magee Christmas Parade is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, 2020. The Mayor reminds the public no candy or items can or will be thrown from the vehicles or floats. Any participant caught doing so will be removed from the parade route by the police.
Dr. Miller with ASAP met before the board to give a monthly report. A total of 400 calls were reported in the last month. Of the 400 calls, 300 of them were transports. The average response time is approximately 13:00. The numbers have improved for Magee General Hospital and Simpson General. Magee wait time has improved from 60:00 to 36:30.
Berry advised the board of the election dates and timelines for the city election. January 5 – February 5 is qualification time. April 6th will be party elections. The General election is June 8th. Newly elected officials take office July 1, 2021.

- Thanksgiving Holidays – Thursday & Friday, November 26 & 27, 2020
- Christmas Holidays – Thursday & Friday, December 24 & 25, 2020
- New Year’s Holiday – Thursday & Friday, December 31,2020 and January 1, 2021
There will be no garbage collections on these holidays!
