NEW at Co-Lin Simpson County Center! Evening Welding Training Classes Start May 8, Scholarships available

 Welders are in high demand in the manufacturing, agriculture, and oil and gas industries. This program is designed to introduce individuals to introductory craft skills (Core), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). Upon successful completion the student will receive a certificate of completion and NCCER CONTREN Certification Levels 1 & 2. In addition, students will participate in 10-hour OSHA General Industry training. Once training is successfully completed an OSHA card will be issued.

Classes start May 8, 2017 | Registration deadline May 1, 2017, 4:30 p.m.

Meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays | 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Class held at Simpson County Technical Center, 3415 Simpson Hwy 149, Mendenhall, MS

 

Entrance Requirement:

Score Bronze on the ACT WorkKeys Assessment.
Testing will be held at Co-Lin Simpson County Center and participants MUST call 601.849.0123 to schedule the assessment.

Costs/Payment:
$995.00 + $280.00 (Additional supplies to be purchased by student)

Participants currently receiving SNAP benefits or are eligible for SNAP benefits may qualify for funding assistance. Contact your county Department of Human Services to learn how.

Scholarships are available for those individuals that DO NOT qualify for SNAP tuition, WIOA funding or any other assistance. Applications may be downloaded and printed from our website at https://careertraining.colin.edu/welding-simpson-county or picked up from the
Co-Lin Simpson Center Admissions Office. The application due date for scholarships is no later than the close of business on April 24, 2017, and should be submitted to the Co-Lin Simpson Center Admissions Office.
