April 11-1, 2021, celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, which honors the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community. Without these diligent civilians and workers our counties and homes would not be as safe and protected. They show up when everyone else is leaving and hope their best is enough for you and the city. Let us all celebrate and show our gratitude to these officials.

They are the first to take the call, yet the last to know the outcome. They dedicate their lives to being the calm voice on the other end of the line. They have mastered the “working lunch”. They know the real definition of a “bad” day.

Angie Everett Walker, full time dispatcher of 18 years, of Mendenhall says, “It is a privilege to work with some of the best dispatchers around. I am proud to be apart of the Sheriff’s Office, it is easy to do a great job when you have a good Sheriff and good Deputies leading the way.” Thank you Angie for your continued service throughout these years.
