Nadine Fortenberry, 89, of Braxton, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Friday, July 19, 1929.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Cato Baptist Church in Mendenhall, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Cato Baptist Church. The burial will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Braxton, Mississippi. Bro. Don Lum will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401

Mrs. Fortenberry graduated high school in D’Lo, Mississippi.  She married the love of her life Bill at the age of 17.  After marriage they moved to the Cato community where they were members of Cato Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years W.J. (Bill) Fortenberry, her parents, Walter and Vadie Moore, her siblings, Mable Ponder, C.W. Moore, Bobbie Faye Givens Davis, Willie Ray Givens.

Survivors include her son Billy Fortenberry and his wife Theresa, her Granddaughters, Keisha Prestwood and her husband Landry, and Kelli Smallwood and her husband Clint, her Great-grandsons, Gaige Brown, Carson Prestwood, Callen Smallwood, one sister, Jeanette Ainsworth, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kirby Fortenberry, Rance Fortenberry, Robert Walters, Robbie Ainsworth, Mike Ainsworth, Rick Ainsworth.
