Myrtle Parker Gambrell died Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, MS.

She was born Tuesday, October 8, 1929, in Smith County, Mississippi

She was a loving mother and housewife. She loved being outside and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a lifelong member of Summerland Baptist Church where she was a Children’s Sunday School teacher for many years.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Summerland Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Summerland Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Summerland Baptist Church Cemtery. Bro. Frankie Clark will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Gambrell, Sr.; parents, Oddie and Lenon Parker; brothers, Alex Parker, Ike Parker, William Henry (Bee) Parker, and Boone Parker; sistrs, Myrtis Sherman and Lillie Pearl (Sammie) Mayberry; and grandson, Clayton Gambrell (Gabe) Parish.

She is survived by her son, Charles W. Gambrel, Jr. (Lynda); daughters, Nancy Jo Gambrell, and Helen Doris Parish; grandchildren, Carrie Mathis Hawkins (Robbie) and Corey Lyle Gambrell; great-grandchildren, Merigrace Gambrell Hawkins and Robert Ayden Hawkins; sister, Hattie Parker Sherman, and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the attentive and loving care-givers at Jasper County Nursing for all they have done.
