STARKVILLE, Miss.—Twenty-one Mississippi State College of Education graduates recently were recognized as outstanding teacher interns for the spring 2019 semester.

Nominated by their classroom mentor teachers, the award honorees are selected based on their resourcefulness, initiative and effectiveness. Those recognized have demonstrated outstanding teaching performance, professionalism and a high level of commitment to the teaching profession.  They completed their teaching internships at various public school systems throughout Mississippi and Alabama and obtained their degrees from the Starkville and Meridian campuses, as well as through the university’s Center for Distance Education.

MAGEE—Emily T. Crace, a secondary education/English education major.

MERIDIAN—Lauren A. Stewart and Ashlynn E. Lee, both elementary education/middle school majors.

OLIVE BRANCH—Nicole R. Lloyd, an elementary education/middle school major.

PHEBA—John Taylor Champion, a secondary education/social studies education major.

PHILADEPHIA—Misty D. Simmons, an elementary education/middle school major.

PRATTVILLE, Alabama—Kayla L. Callahan, a music education/instrumental major.

RICHLAND—Kari Jordan, a secondary education/social studies education major.

STARKVILLE—Skyler D. Buford, a special education major.

WALNUT GROVE—Katie S. Gilmore, an elementary education/middle school major.
