For 156 years the Mississippi State Fair has been entertaining Mississippians. October brings this special time to our area. Wednesday beginning at 5:00 PM is the official opening time.
The first official date of the Mississippi State Fair is 1859! I remember as a young girl, my grandmother who was in her 70’s insisted that the fair was something she would attend…proving one is never too old or too young for fair fun!
Wonderful midway food, thrilling rides, free entertainment, and of course the livestock show, the fair offers something for everyone. Riding or walking…eating or watching…the fair is just fun and almost a ritual to the beginning of fall in our area.
