Mr.  Charles Gene “Jack “ Tanner passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on July 1, 1941, to Delton and Gertrude Meadows Tanner in Mize, MS.

Jack retired from the MS National Guard after over forty-plus years of service. He loved what he did and made many friendships during his lifetime. He had a strong work ethic and instilled those skills into his family life. Some of the many things he got to experience during his lifetime were the Bob Hope Tour, he ran with the bulls in Spain, and was present when the Berlin Wall came down. He also traveled around the world three times.

Family was very important to Jack , and spending time with them brought him great joy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, playing softball and cards, bowling and could repair anything. He was a mentor and coach to many, a prankster who loved giving others nicknames, and a jack of all trades.
