Tuesday, September 19, 2023, the Magee Public Library was filled with writers—Mississippi writers that is! Under the guidance of Frances Meadows and Alice Green i Children’s Librarian and Barbara Gauthier Circulation Clerk, the event allowed readers to meet the Mississippi Authors!
Meredith Coleman McGee is pictured with Librarian Frances Meadows. Meredith already has several of her books on the shelves of the Magee Library.
Nash Nunnery and his wife Vicki display Nash’s book entitled Magnolia Gridiron Cathedrals. I interviewed Nash several weeks ago. The book is a great “guy” gift.
Dale Beasley author of “We Will Not Be Home by Christmas” wrote a fascinating book containing a collection of cards and letters sent during the different Wars. This is a great coffee table book.
Magee’s own Nancy Kay Sullivan Wessman author of Katrina Mississippi Voices from Ground Zero. Nancy Kay was allowed early access to many Katrina stories and pictures. Perfect for Katrina enthusiast.
Another Magee guy, John Shivers has been writing and publishing for years. “Alive By Default” and “Cruisin’ for a Crook” are two of John’s newest books.
Dorothy Day and Barbara Gaddy (Dorothy is a graduate of Magee High School) visited with me a few weeks ago do discuss their books. Dot’s book “Ordinary Miracles” contains the writings of several people in Simpson County!Dorothy’s new book ORDINARY MIRACLES is an anthology of 31 stories contributed by various writers, both professional and non-professional, who relate interesting stories of poignant times from their lives
David Ishee co-author of Bo Jack: “When Loyalties Collide” is a interesting book about an eight year old boy who grew up on the streets of New Orleans and ends up as an undercover agent for the FBI.
Glen Stripling and his wife are lovers of Si-Fi! If you are into Si-Fi you will enjoy these books.
