The Southern Miss Golden Eagles, Jackson State Tigers, and Alcorn State Braves had off weeks to keep improving their teams, but the rest of the MS teams had great weekends, except for Valley State. Two teams are in the AP Top 25 for FBS football, and one is in the FCS Top 25.

#7 Kentucky traveled to Oxford to take on #14 Ole Miss in a heated SEC matchup. Ole Miss led the game 19-12 at halftime, and continued to control the game and topped the Wildcats 22-19. Ole Miss was moved up to #8, while Kentucky was dropped to #11. Next is Mississippi State. The #17 Texas A&M Aggies traveled to Starkville, hoping to add another win to their record, to help forget about their Week 2 loss to Appalachian State. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs were coming off of a big win against Bowling Green, and were looking to keep the vibe alive. MS State led the Aggies throughout the whole game, winning 42-24. Texas A&M was dropped from the Week 5 Top 25, while the Bulldogs now sit at #23.

In the FCS world, MS Valley State faced Florida A&M, hoping to find their first win of the season, but ultimately fell to the Rattlers 34-7. For MS’s D-II teams, Mississippi College traveled to West Georgia, where they defeated West Georgia 39-38, and Delta State took down Valdosta State 70-31 to advance to a 5-0 record. Finally, the two D-III teams in Mississippi also had good wins this weekend. Belhaven took down Methodist 34-27, and Millsaps defeated Sewanee 30-27.

Here’s a look at the games for next week for the teams in Mississippi:
