The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’(MDWFP) Law Enforcement Special Response Team (SRT) is currently stationed in Southwest, MS in preparation to assist communities in response to severe weather associated with Hurricane Francine.
MDWFP urges all visitors to use caution when visiting our facilities, specifically in the southern and central regions, this week due to the anticipated impact of the hurricane. This advisory applies to all Wildlife Management Areas, State Lakes, State Parks, Shooting Facilities, and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.
Additionally, as a precautionary measure, Buccaneer State Park has been evacuated and will remain closed until further notice.
For detailed information on the storm and preparedness tips, visit the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) website at https://www.msema.org/tropical-storm-francine/.
