Miss Rodeo America 2024, Emma Cameron, (right), and Miss Dixie National 2024 Emma Watts were honored by the Mississippi Senate on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, for their achievements.
Senate Resolution 27, which honors Cameron, says during her reign as the official representative of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association she “will travel approximately 50,000 miles and appear at nearly 150 rodeo performances, as well as making appearances at schools, civic groups, and other special events educating the public and creating awareness about the sport of rodeo, its sponsors, and its opportunities.” Cameron graduated with honors from Cornell University and worked as a commodity risk-management analyst in Kansas City before moving back to the Southwest.
Senate Resolution 28, which honors Watts, an honors graduate of Leroy High School, currently attends Pearl River Community College, in Poplarville, where she is a member of the Award-Winning Rodeo Team. Emma will be continuing her education working toward a degree in business, as well as agriculture communications. For the next year Watts will represent and promote rodeo, agriculture, and the western way of life to more than two million people. Watts and Cameron will serve as spokespersons at a variety of promotional events and serve as models in commercial advertisements for western retailers, publications, sponsors, and other service providers to the western industry.
They are standing with Senator Chuck Younger, Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
