JACKSON, MISS – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) recently celebrated the graduation of the 2025 Conservation Officer Cadet Class. These officers will now be assigned throughout the state to further the mission of conserving, enhancing, and protecting our state’s natural resources.
The Conservation Officer Cadet Class completed 24 total weeks of training. They completed 13 weeks at the Mississippi Conservation Officer Training Academy (MCTOA) and 11 weeks at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy (MLEOTA). Throughout their training, the cadets learned important skills such as water survival tactics, hunter education, hunting incident investigations, firearms training, and more.
Congratulations to these officers for their achievements:
  • Bailee Childers – Monroe County, MS; assigned to Monroe County
  • Nace Clark – Tippah County, MS; assigned to Tunica County
  • Hunter Crockett – Tate County, MS; assigned to Coahoma County
  • Joshua Eaves – Oktibbeha County, MS; assigned to Carroll County
  • Holman Edwards – Choctaw County, MS; assigned to Pearl River County
  • Tyler Janos – Hinds County, MS; assigned to Bolivar County
  • Lukas Murphy – Lee County, MS; assigned to Lee County
  • Logan Trauth – Lincoln County, MS; assigned to Franklin County
  • Samuel Williamson – Lamar County, MS; assigned to Madison County
“We are proud of these officers for the hard work and dedication they demonstrated throughout their training. We wish them all a rewarding and safe career as they step into their roles protecting our state’s wildlife and natural resources,” said Col. Jerry Carter, MDWFP Chief of Law Enforcement.
The mission of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is to conserve and enhance Mississippi’s wildlife, fisheries, and parks; provide quality outdoor recreation, and engage the public in natural resource conservation.
