Mildred Virginia Crisco Purvis with her youngest daughter, Ginger & husband, Bob, youngest son, Edward & wife, Rhoda by her side went to meet her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 5, 2017 at 4:25 am in Crowley, La. She was 89 years old. She was a native of Mendenhall, Ms.
She is survived by five children: John W. Purvis, Jr. and wife, Eula of Chattanooga, TN. Theresa Purvis Connell and husband, Jim of Batesville, Ark., Louis Purvis of Pasadena, Tx., Ginger Purvis Bourg and husband, Bob of Rayne, La., Edward Purvis and wife, Rhoda of Youngsville, La.
She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Fallon Bourg, Courtney Bourg Manfre and husband, Ryan, Troy Bourg and wife, Tammy, Jamie Isaac and wife, Melissa, Casey Connell, Jamie Connell and wife, Angela, Zach Purvis and wife, Alex, Josh Purvis and wife, Ashley, Jonna Purvis van Thiel and husband, Pieter, Jonathan Purvis and wife, Candy.

Truly blessed with 14 great-grandchildren: Mason Stevens, Maddox, Kinslee & Bella Manfre, Avery & Piper Isaac, Greg & Brittany Carmen, Kirsten & Samantha McGill, Aiden van Thiel, Jackson Connell, McKenzie Purvis, Wyatt Purvis. Also one sister, Lessie Marsh Clay of Apache Junction, Az. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a loyal servant of the LORD and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Raleigh, Ms.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John W. Purvis, Sr., her parents, Elijah Crisco and Allie Bass Crisco Marsh, her brother, Cliff Marsh, Jr. and her sister, Doris Marsh Sons Wiese.

Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home in Magee, Ms. Visitation will be Friday, April 7, 2017 from 4-8 pm and resume Saturday April 8, 2017 from 8am -12 noon with services being held in the funeral home chapel starting at 12. She will be laid to rest in the Merchant Cemetery next to her beloved husband.
