I, Ian Cowart, am excited to announce the installation date for the music system for our downtown is Tuesday, July 19th. I want to give a huge thank you to Joe Garner at Music City Instruments. Music City has really gone above and beyond to make sure we have everything need for a smooth installation. After we install and test the equipment, we will officially start playing music on Wednesday, July 20th.

The Magee Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Magee’s only FM radio station, Renew 96.9. The Chamber will be playing their station Monday-Saturday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. Since we are partnered with Renew 96.9, they agreed to give discount advertising rates to chamber members. This is a great way for Magee businesses, as well as Chamber members, to expand their advertising opportunities. Renew 96.9 reaches over 15,000 people in Magee and surrounding communities. Their information on advertising rates and contact information is listed below or visit their website at https://renew969.com/.

Your Chamber of Commerce has been working very hard this year. We have had a collective vision to help inspire and promote growth as well as restoration to our beloved downtown. I want to give special thanks to all our outstanding board members as well as our Executive Director, Doris Adcox. Putting Christian music downtown is our first step in our special project. I believe that a town and its citizens that stand firm in their Christian values is the bedrock to positive and conducive improvement. I know that some may disagree, but I wouldn’t be the man I am today if I did not have a firm foundation in my faith in my lord and savior.

On behalf of the Magee Chamber of Commerce, I want to also give a huge thanks to all the businesses who helped sponsor “Music on Main.” With your generous donations, we were not only able to purchase the sound system, but add more ideas in this endeavor. I will release more information on that as we vote and approve as a board in the coming months. Right now your board is diligently working hard planning what I am hoping to be one of the best Crazy Day’s yet. I want to encourage everyone to keep praying for us as we move forward for the year. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me or Mrs. Doris.

Chamber President,

Ian Cowart
