MDOT is made up of more than 230 engineers who work in the varied fields of construction, maintenance, bridge, materials, hydraulics and more. Each MDOT engineer works to maintain and enhance Mississippi’s transportation network.

“I am so proud of the many talented engineers working at MDOT. Without these men and women and their unique skill sets, our agency wouldn’t be what it is today,” said Brad White, MDOT Executive Director. “MDOT is in charge of maintaining over 30,000 highway miles and over 5,000 bridges. And, although understaffed, our experienced and talented engineering team is able to keep these roads and bridges safe and passable for the motoring public.”

EWeek was founded by NSPE in 1951. The goal is to promote the importance of technical education and a high level of math, science and technology literacy to motivate students to pursue a career in engineering and technology careers.

An MDOT engineer will be featured on social media each day of EWeek, you can find these features by following @MississippiDOT on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
