While playing for Hinds he was awarded the Most Valuable Receiver, All American, and #3 in JUCO.

Marquez graduated from Magee High School where he played quarterback for the Trojans.

During his time at Magee, Marquez was chosen as All Division, and Most Valuable Player Offensive.

Marquez wanted to come back to his home roots and foundation for his signing.

Oh hand for signing was his mother, Markemia Collins, his son Marquez McNair Jr., Amanda Collins – Cousin, former Coach Charles Lee, and former Coach Tim Coats –  Head Football Coach and Athletic Director for Magee High School.

WLBT was on hand for the signing and can be seen tonight on the sports edition of the evening news.
