Good Morning, it’s hump day! I’ve often wondered who “invented” the word and phrase…but I think the word well represents Wednesdays!

The Magee Police Department is still in need of toys for their “box” for Christmas. The toys are distributed to needy children in our area…and I imagine the PD sees and knows first hand the needs of many children in and around Magee. Just take your toy by the Magee PD and “drop” the toy in the box!

PriorityOne Bank is having a toy drive for St Jude’s. Toys may be taken to the highway 49 branch.

Happy 4th of July

July 4, 2026

Just a few activities for the remainder of the week:
Polar Express at the Magee Public Library beginning at 5:30….live music, refreshments, and of course lots of fun! The party is from 5:30-6:30

The FBC Weekday Education Program celebrates Christmas with the children at 6:30 Thursday night in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. I think hearing children sing at Christmas will get anyone in the spirit…so if you are kind of “hum-bug”…come and hear the sweet voices of the FBC children

Dinner with Santa is Friday night from 5-8 at Dinner on Main in Mendenhall. $20 includes a picture with Santa, a toy, and a meal! This is a great outing for county children.

The Magee High School Class of 1975 celebrates their 40th Class Reunion at the Simpson County Country Club beginning at 7

Jingle Bell Brunch is Saturday morning at the Magee Community House beginning at 10. Tickets are $12. The brunch is sponsored by Merchant Ship Ministries, an organization headed by Charlie White that strives to assist women in Africa to become independent in supporting their families.

Continued prayers for the Yates family and the Kennedy family…both families will bury their loved ones today.

Prayers are requested for Joyce Walker.
There are so many people who need prayer…please send your request to Sue@mageenews.com. Sometimes, I am not aware of a need in a family. We have an awesome group of prayer warriors…let us pray for you.

Enjoy your “hump” day…and share a smile with someone today!…and a “Merry Christmas!”

Merry Christmas

Sue the prez
