Because of a grant, the lagoon will be cleaned during the up coming year.

Garbage bills will increase for businesses in the coming year.  After a study, the Mayor realized many business were paying very low amounts.  The charge will be matched to the amount of garbage collected at the business.  Mayor Berry stated no residential bills will increase.

The importance of bagging all trash was discussed.  Loose garbage will not be picked up…everything must be in bags.  Bags cannot weigh over 50 lbs.

“We are continuing to push for our town to be cleaned”, said Mayor Berry.

A rental ordinance as well as a burn ordinance is in the works.

The City continues to work on requiring cameras at all apartment complexes and an on site manager.

Cameras are coming for McNair Springs, Marvin Jackson Park, Ural Everett Park, and the City Cemetery.

The Mayor continues to work on land be donating to the city near the City cemetery

“A new city attorney will be named Tuesday night at the Board meeting (January 4, 2022),” Dale emphasized.
