Maxie Sam Roberts, 82, passed from this life on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his home in Raleigh, Mississippi.
Born Saturday, October 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Maxie Roberts and Mary Lee Roberts.
He was retired from South Central Bell with 30 years of service.
He served our country in the United States Army.
He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and was a member of Willis Masonic Lodge #92
Surviving him are his wife of 62 years Geraldine Dukes Roberts, Son, Steven S Roberts (Elaine), Daughters, Patty Shaw (Arno) and Teresa A Oostenburg (Joel), Grandchildren, Justin Shaw, Felicia McGough, Katy Oostenbrug and David Oostenbrug, along with Five Great-grandchildren. Brothers, Henry Breland Roberts (Cora Belle), George R Roberts (Sondra), Lewis Roberts (Hilda) and Robert “Bob” Roberts (Diane), sister, Frances Lack.
He was preceded in death by Grandson, Steven Sam Roberts JR., Brothers, James L Roberts, Dan Roberts and Charles Roberts.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at White Oak Baptist Church with Bro Tim Robertson and Bro Nicky Walker officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Pearl, MS.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2015, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, 302 SW 8th Ave, Magee, Mississippi.
