Daniel C. Jones, District Attorney, announces the sentence of Dwight Nelson for sexual battery and gratification of lust of a minor child.

Mendenhall- District Attorney Daniel C. Jones announced that on Friday, May 1, 2015, Hon. Eddie H. Bowen sentenced Dwight Nelson, 47, of Pinola, to life for the crime of sexual battery and ten (10) years for the crime of gratification of lust.

Defendant Dwight Nelson touched the minor child and had sex with her during and about 2013 in Pinola, Mississippi.

District Attorney Jones stated that “ADA Stephanie Breland-Wood and ADA Chris Hennis did an excellent job in trying the case.” Jones stated that “[he] was pleased with the sentence against Nelson since it was the maximum sentence of life allowed by law.” Jones further added that “[his] office will continue to prosecute sexual predators and seek the maximum penalties allowed by law.”

District Attorney Jones went on to say that his office “prosecutes criminals without passion, prejudice, improper influence, political standing, financial standing, or regards to race” and it is his duty to “ensure that justice will be served with each and every case [his] office handles.”

Daniel C. Jones represents the 13th Circuit Court District which includes Covington, Jasper, Simpson, and Smith counties.

    Looking for the cookbook section…needed the best chicken and dressing recipe and I can not find the recipe section or my copy from looong ago. Thanks

      Go to the top of the page (very top) …not in red area…the top…find “Archives”… click on it and that should take you to the old site. When you get on the old site, go to the search bar located on the right and type in what you are looking for. If everything works (!!!) the recipe should pull up!
