Matthew Harrison and Sam McWilliams were notified last week of their selection to the All MAIS Baseball Team. Selection to this team is quite an honor…and two boys from SCA…wow, that just shows the power of these boys. Only 14 players were chosen for the All MAIS Baseball team.
Matthew made the MAIS team as a pitcher. On the mound this year, he pitched 59 innings, had a 1.186 ERA, and struck out 70 batters. Matthew has signed with Meridian Community College to begin play in the fall.
Sam made the team as an outfielder/utility. Sam batted .404 this year with two home runs. He was 30 for 30 in stolen bases!!! On the mound he pitched relief in 25 innings with a 0.280 ERA and struck out 39 batters. Sam has committed to play at Meridian Community College as an outfielder/pitcher.
Sam is an upcoming senior at SCA. (And just for the record, you should see him play basketball…unreal).
Their Coach, Adam Evans, was selected as coach for the MAIS All Star game this year.
Best of luck to these two guys! They are awesome not only on the field but in the classroom. Both boys are dedicated Christians and very active in their churches.
